Cynthia started her fashion-modeling career after she moved her career to New York. A five-year contract was signed with Wihelmina Models. She then was the face of Essence Magazine. Cynthia's cover debut was among Essence's most well-loved covers as well as an instant favorite with the editor-in-chief at the time, Susan Taylor. Soon thereafter, Cynthia booked her second cover, and set the mood for her career success. She then moved into Paris and Milan where she was seen in the fashion shows of Paris Fashion Week and Milan Fashion Week. Cynthia moved to New York City after living overseas for almost a full year. Her campaigns included Maybelline Oil of Olay Macy's. Then, her editorials were published in Vogue, Glamour and Elle magazines.
